We take in reptiles that can no longer be kept...

Reptile Cove is not a rescue, but we will accept relinquished reptiles for any reason. We also have resources for keepers if you are having a hard time with your care.

All reptiles that are surrendered have the opportunity to be used in our educational programs. Though we attempt to keep the reptiles that come to us, we occasionally do have to rehome them. Reptile Cove will always do our best to ensure any reptile that comes to us is given the care they deserve.

Relinquish Process

1. Fill Out Our Form

Our forms allow us to know as much information as possible to help keep the reptile happy and healthy. Please be as honest as possible, and if your reptile had been to the vet for any reason please contact your vet for their records.

2. Set an appointment

We like to schedule an appointment for this process, we can travel to some extent but it may take a few weeks for us to have availability if we have to travel. We are located in York, PA. We meet those willing to travel at local pet stores.

3. Quarantine

Once received, reptiles go into quarantine for a minimum of 10 days. During this time they receive a health evaluation by our staff. We will then make a vet appointment or apply any treatments as needed.

I understand that I will not be compensated for the animal or for any accessories left with the animal.
